sod reanimates (with core dump) snmpd due to heartbeat timeout during BIG-IP system startup and configuration load. ... Impact ... Only impact is the generation of a core file. ... Conditions ... During startup and configuration load, snmpd sometimes blocks while waiting for certain system resources to become available. ... If snmpd blocks longer than its configured heartbeat timeout, sod kills it and restarts it. ... This can particularly happen if the configuration has hostnames configured as SNMP trap dsetinations, and system DNS servers are not reachable. ... Workaround ... Increase the snmpd heartbeat timeout to 300 seconds or more. ... The 11.5.1 default timeout of 60 seconds might be too short for certain platforms and configurations. ... The default timeout for later releases is 300 seconds.
