On any HPE ProLiant server listed in the Scope section below, configured with an HPE Ethernet 25Gb 2-port 640FLR-SFP28 Adapter or an HPE Ethernet 25Gb 2-port 640SFP28 Adapter and running the HPE VMware ESXi 6.5 Custom Image, when an attempt is made to enable the Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) with the default inbox driver in VMware ESXi 6.5, the request fails. The max_vfs parameter for the inbox driver cannot be configured and it will display the following message: This occurs because the HPE Custom Image for VMware ESXi 6.5 inbox driver does not have SR-IOV support.
