When using the display port for display function on an HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 system, no Display Port audio device will be found in Device Manager as the default setting. This occurs because the default audio setting for the Display Port is "Disabled:" This is expected behavior on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 systems and does not impact the MicroServer performance.

Scope

Any HPE MicroServer Gen10 system configured with the default Audio setting.

Resolution

Follow the steps below to enable an audio device as the Default from the BIOS Setup menu on an HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 system: Power On the system and press the "F2" or the "Delete" key to enter the BIOS Setup menu. Move to the "Chipset" page, then select the "GFX Configuration" option. Modify the "Gnb Hd Audio" option from Disabled to Enabled. Press the "F4" key and select "Yes" to Save and Exit the BIOS Setup menu. Boot the system and ensure that the Device Manager displays "High Definition Audio Device:" Once the audio device has been enabled, follow the steps below to download the AMD Chipset Driver from the HPE Support Center: Click the following link: http://www.hpe.com/support/hpesc Enter a product name (e.g., "HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Server") in the text field under Enter a Product Name or Number. Click Go. Select the appropriate product model from the Results list (if prompted). Click the "drivers, software & firmware" hyperlink under the Download Options tab. Select the system's specific operating system from the Operating Systems dropdown menu. Click the category Driver - Chipset. Select the latest release of AMD Chipset Driver for HPE MicroServer Gen10. Click Download. Then, install the driver as follows: Copy the AMD Radeon driver on to the local desktop. Click the AMD Radeon driver icon and then double click the "Setup" option in AMD Radeon driver. Click the default setting during the installation. Ensure the installation finishes with no errors by checking the Device Manager. The AMD HD Audio Device should be visible: An audio device will be enabled as the default setting in the future. This advisory will be updated when additional information becomes available.
