Document Version Release Date Details 2 May 26, 2022 Updated the Resolution section with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware version 1.40 and later, which contains the fix 1 September 11, 2018 Original Document Release The HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware provides the ability to monitor server power supplies. This advisory applies to servers with intelligent power supplies capable of providing status changes. iLO 5 provides several levels of monitoring for server power supplies. Individual power supply status is included in the power supply summary, and overall power supply status is a part of the iLO health summary. Redundancy status is also a part of the iLO 5 health summary. Examples of power supply status changes include loss of AC power to a supply, an unplugged power cable, or the supply experiencing a general failure. Typically, an individual power supply status should update in a few seconds; however, in some cases this may take several minutes. The overall power supply status and redundancy status are not affected from this same delay. This issue only affects the display of individual power supply status across iLO 5 user interfaces. Internal processes, such as recalculation of power supply capacity, are not affected.
Scope
Any HPE system with iLO 5 with firmware prior to version 1.40. HPE server blade or HPE Apollo server with a chassis controller are not covered by this advisory.
Resolution
Although an individual power supply status update may take several minutes, the overall power supply status and redundancy status are not affected from this same delay. This issue is fixed in HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware version 1.40 and later.
