Scope

Any HPE server configured with any of the following End-of-Life (EOL) network adapters using the HPE Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for VMware version 3.10.16, Windows Server x64 Editions version 5.1.4.0 or Linux x86_64 version 1.17.17, to update the network adapter firmware for the following Intel-based network adapters: HPE Ethernet 1Gb 1-port 364i Adapter (LOM) HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 366M Adapter (615729-B21) HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 561FLR-T Adapter (700699-B21) HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 561T Adapter (716591-B21)

Resolution

This issue was resolved in Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2019.12.0 (or later). Workaround To correctly perform a firmware upgrade, disable the EOL network adapters via RSBU, and then perform the firmware upgrade again using the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2019.03.1 or the individual smart components. Once the firmware update is performed, re-enable the EOL network adapters. Note: For information about how to disable the network adapters via RSBU, refer to the specific server user guide. These steps may vary depending on the server.
