When attempting to add an HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware package as a hotfix, the component signature (compsig) files may fail to upload. As a result, the following error message will appear in OneView: " Unable to upload the signature file for hotfix firmware-X because the signature file is either invalid or does not correspond to the selected hotfix ." This issue will affect any HPE Gen10 server with an iLO 5 firmware update that utilizes a two-part compsig file. For instance, when either file, "firmware-ilo5-2.14-1.1.x86_64_part1.compsig" OR "firmware-ilo5-2.14-1.1.x86_64_part2.compsig" is selected for upload using the "Upload signature file" option after selecting OK , the above error message is displayed almost immediately.
Scope
Any HPE OneView version that manages firmware version 2.10 or later firmware packages of HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5).
Resolution
This issue is fixed by upgrading to HPE OneView 5.20.01 or later. As a workaround, HPE Smart Update Manager (SUM) can be used to create a custom SPP with version 2.10 or later iLO 5 firmware packages. This custom SPP can then be uploaded to HPE OneView for use as a baseline.
