The iLO health monitoring status of the device / adapter located in Slotx is not responsive. Figure 1: iLO Event Log This has been observed on HPE systems with multiple HPE Smart Array controllers installed.The false caution messages can be ignored if the system is otherwise functioning as expected.

Scope

Any HPE system with iLO 5 firmware v2.16 (or earlier).

Resolution

To avoid the false caution messages, update to iLO 5 v2.30. As a workaround, if the system is functioning as expected, ignore the caution messages. This has been observed on HPE systems with multiple HPE Smart Array controllers installed. Perform the following to disable the Management Component Transport Protocol (MCTP)and stop the false caution messages: From the iLO 5 management interface: Click System Information in the navigation tree, click the Device Inventory tab. Click Discovery. Disable the MCTP and wait for two minutes. Perform an MCTP factory reset. Enable the MCTP. The device should be displayed again. Reset iLO 5. Reboot the OS. To download iLO 5 v2.30, perform the following steps: Click the following link: http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo5 The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment. Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 v2.30 firmware. click the Revision History tab to locate the latest version. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button.
