On an HPE ProLiant server configured with a Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 Enterprise 10/25Gb 2-port Card and running a Linux operating system, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, when booting into the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2021.04.0 and using the Pensando bundle to update components, the deployment may fail with the following entry in HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO): Note: the issue will only occur when both the SPP and the Pensando bundle are selected as part of the inventory baseline and if the "Save component as an Install Set on iLO Repository" checkbox is selected: This occurs because the Smart Update Manager (SUM) is not able to download the component from the iLO Repository due to the size of the component.
Scope
Any HPE server configured with a Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 Enterprise 10/25Gb 2-port Card (P26966-B21).
Resolution
Follow the process below to install the firmware component: 1. Go to Smart Update Manager to start the update, add the Pensando firmware bundle only, but do not add SPP 2021.04.0 and the Pensando bundle to the inventory baseline simultaneously. If needed, remove the SPP from the baseline then run the Pensando firmware bundle. 2. Do NOT click on the "Save component as an Install Set on iLO Repository" checkbox to deploy Pensando components. The component will be installed successfully.
