HPE systems with a Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 Enterprise 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 Card or Pensando Distributed Services Platform for HPE iLO Sideband Management Adaptive LOM Module and HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware v2.44 may intermittently shut down when performing a system reboot or system factory restore. When this occurs, the Integrated Management Log (IML) log may display messages similar to the following: System Overheating (Temperature Sensor 30, Location I/O Board, Temperature 127) Automatic Operating System Shutdown Initiated Due to Overheat Condition Note : This is a cosmetic issue and does not indicate an actual thermal issue.
Any HPE system with either of the cards listed below and iLO 5 firmware v2.44: Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 Enterprise 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 Card (P26966-B21) Pensando Distributed Services Platform for HPE iLO Sideband Management Adaptive LOM Module
This is targeted to be resolved in a future version of iLO 5 firmware. As a workaround, to avoid intermittent shutdowns, use iLO 5 firmware v2.42. This advisory will be updated when additional information is available. To download the iLO 5 firmware v2.42, perform the following steps: Click the following link: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the iLO 5. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 v2.42 firmware . Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button.
