On an HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server running HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware version 2.40 (or earlier), the fans may increase to high speeds for no apparent reason, for example, no increase in room or environment temperatures, no increased workload, etc.
Any HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server running Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware version 2.40 (or earlier).
This issue has been addressed with iLO 5 firmware version 2.42 (or later) and System ROM 2.50 (or later). iLO 5 firmware version 2.42 is ONLY available as a component of Service Pack for ProLiant 2021.04.0 . iLO 5 version 2.44 can be used instead, when not running SPP 2021.04.01. To download the iLO 5 firmware v2.44 (or later), perform the following steps: Click the following link: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center . The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the iLO 5. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 v2.44 firmware (or later). Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button. System ROM 2.50 (or later) is available here . Make sure to check the Revision History Tab to obtain the latest version of System ROM.
