Document Version Release Date Details 2 January 03, 2024 Updated the Resolution with the permanent fix, OneView 6.60.00. 1 March 30, 2022 Original Document Release. If creation of a Custom SPP is attempted on HPE OneView 6.50 and HPE iLO firmware 2.79 files for Windows, and Linux and VMware ESXi are added to the Gen9 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2021.10.0 baseline, a Custom SPP will be created. However, at the end of the process, it will not list the version information, and the following error message will be displayed: "Create custom firmware bundle using base Service Pack P45315_001_gen9spp-2021_10_0-Gen9SPP2021100_2021_1021_32. Add hotfix firmware-ilo4-2.79-1.1.i386.rpm. Add hotfix CP049646.zip. Add hotfix cp049649.exe. Retrieve information from firmware bundle. Unable to add firmware bundle test.iso. Issue An unexpected problem occurred while parsing the ServicePack file: custom_gen9.iso. Resolution Verify that the file is a valid ServicePack and try again. If the problem persists, try a different ServicePack file."

Scope

HPE OneView 6.50 and Gen9 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2021.10.0 (also known as ServicePack P45315_001_gen9spp-2021_10_0-Gen9SPP2021100_2021_1021_32) for HPE Gen9 Servers. Note : This only occurs with ProLiant/Synergy Gen9 servers.

Resolution

This issue is corrected by updating to HPE OneView 6.60.00. As a workaround, perform the following steps: Download the SPP iso, "P45315_001_gen9spp-2021.10.0-Gen9SPP2021100.2021_1021.32.iso" for Gen9 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2021.10.0. Rename the SPP to "Gen9SPP2021100.2021_1021.32.iso". Upload it to OneView and then create the custom SPP.
