Info

Document Version Release Date Details 2 September 5, 2023 Added Gen 6 and Gen 7 to the Title, content was replaced in the Description section and the Details sections prior to "A TruFOS certificate may be installed using the license CLI command..." 1 May 25, 2022 Original Document Release. In Fabric OS (FOS) v9.0.0, Brocade introduced a Trusted FOS (TruFOS) Certificate to ensure Enterprise Data Center environments are securely enabled to perform critical operations like firmware migrations and to verify the integrity and authenticity of new code before allowing changes to the Fabric Operating System on Enterprise level SAN switches. In FOS 9.1.0 select switches require a valid TruFOS certificate to be installed in order to upgrade to or from FOS 9.1.x. FOS v9.2.0 has extended the TruFOS Certificate requirement to include all Gen 6 32Gb and Gen 7 64Gb platforms with the exception of the Brocade 32Gb FC Switch for HPE Synergy. IMPORTANT : TruFOS certificates are only required to be valid during a FOS upgrade or downgrade for the FOS versions and platforms listed below. A missing or invalid certificate will not affect any switch functionality other than the ability to upgrade or downgrade FOS.
