The configured speed of a SAS-4 drive attached to an MR216i/MR416i controller, firmware version 52.21.3 (or earlier), on HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus servers, is displayed incorrectly and is not supported in the HPE MegaRAID Storage Administrator (MRSA) and the BIOS/Platforms Configuration (RBSU). While the speed in 24Gb/s (SAS-4) is not supported, it can still function correctly with negotiated speed in 12 Gb/s (SAS-3). See the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Server User Guide for further details. IMPORTANT : An issue also exists on the HPE MR216i-a Gen10 Plus Tri Mode Controller firmware version earlier than 52.24.3-4948. Follow the instructions in Customer Advisory, Document ID: a00136673en_us , if applicable, before completing this firmware update.
Scope
HPE MR216i and MR416i Gen10 Plus Tri-mode Controllers, firmware version earlier than 52.22.3-4650 on HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus servers, are affected by this issue.
Resolution
NOTE : While firmware version 52.22.3-4650 resolves this issue, this version has been removed from the HPESC website due to the issue described in Customer Advisory Document ID: a00136673en_us . The next available version is 52.24.3-4948. The latest version at the time this advisory was released is 52.26.3-5250. HPE recommends downloading the latest version whenever possible.
