On any of the HPE ProLiant with VMware vSphere Distributed Services Engine platforms running VMware ESXi 8.0 and configured with a Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 v2 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 32GB Special Card listed in the Scope section below; 3 ports (2 Ethernet ports and 1 Management Port) will be listed to be configured for Network Boot in the BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) but none of these will function with Network Boot: BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) -> Network Options -> Network Boot Options -> PCIe Slot Network Boot. The Network boot feature is not supported on the Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 v2 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 32GB Special Card. There is no impact on the functionality of the Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 v2 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 32GB Special Card as per the specification.
Any of the following HPE ProLiant with VMware vSphere Distributed Services Engine platforms running VMware ESXi 8.0 and configured with a Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 v2 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 32GB Special Card (P47928-B21): HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus 6326 Small 12TB Server with VMware vSphere Distributed Services Engine (P59780-B21) HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus Medium 20TB Server with VMware vSphere Distributed Services Engine (P59781-B21) HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus 6338 Large 38TB Server with VMware vSphere Distributed Services Engine (P59782-B21)
To avoid any issue, do not use the PCIe Slot Network Boot on the Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 v2 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 32GB Special Card. The "Network Boot" feature will be removed in a future firmware release. This advisory will be updated when a firmware fix becomes available.
