Document Version Release Date Details 2 January 24, 2023 Removed the Firmware Version column from the SAS HDD table in the Scope section. 1 December 20, 2022 Original Document Release. Certain SAS Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) attached to MR Gen10 Plus and controllers (listed in the Scope section) may fail when devices are "hot- plugged" (swapped when the server is running). When the SAS HDD fails, the HPE MegaRAID Storage Administrator (MRSA) displays "Unconfigured Bad," as shown in the image below.

The following SAS HDD firmware will resolve this issue. Click the "Sign in" icon located in the top-right side of the web page, and click the option "Sign in". Sign in to HPE Support Center (HPESC): For HPE authorized Service Providers: Enter the HPE Passport. For HPE Employees or Contractors: Click the "HPE employee sign in" hyperlink. Enter the HPE Product Number (e.g. "EH000600JWCPF") in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page. Locate and select the (insert the specific component name here, (e.g. "HPE SGI 8600 InfiniBand Firmware Version 1.20") (or later). NOTE : To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button. As a workaround, reboot the server, and typically the drive will function properly.
