To maintain the HPE M-series switches continuity of supply, hardware changes were required which then have software minimum revision dependencies. The impact is that the HPE M-Series SN2000M and SN3000M Switch hardware revision listed below cannot be downgraded below the minimum ONYX-3.10.4006 revision. HPE M-Series SN2000M and SN3000M Switches with hardware revision earlier than that listed below maintain downgrade support for qualified ONYX revisions, as documented in HPE M-series page on the Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge (SPOCK) website (Note: You will need an HPE Passport for sign-in). The switch part number, serial number, and hardware revision are located on the shipping label of the box containing the switch, on the switch pull-tab, on a label on the switch chassis, and also electronically displayed by CLI show inventory for the WebUI system/Inventory tab. Examples: Locating the Inventory display of the serial number and hardware revision using CLI and WebUI: ONYX-3.10.4006 or later ONYX versions: ONYX-3.10.4006 contains SN3000 Family Spectrum®-2 firmware version 29.2010.4016 ONYX-3.10.4006 contains SN2000 Family Spectrum® firmware version 13.2010.4016 HPE M-Series Q2F22A SN2410M CLI and WebUI examples to display the part number and hardware revision: HPE M-Series SN2000M and SN3000M Switch Hardware Change Notification Removal of the Analog-to-Digital Converter from NVIDIA Switch System creates a minimum revision ONYX-3.10.4006 dependency. This change, to remove a component, is supported by ONYX-3.10.3100 and later revisions. NOTE : Switches with this change do not work with earlier ONYX revisions. Resolution
Obtain the switch chassis part number and hardware revision and determine if the switch cannot be downgraded below the factory-installed ONYX-3.10.4006 revision. Upgrade to ONYX 3.10.4100 or later revision. HPE M-series SN2000M and SN3000M series of switches which,out of the factory box, has ONYX-3.10.4006 installed may not be down-gradable if it also has a hardware revision listed above. NOTE : Earlier hardware revision switches are not affected by the minimum ONYX revision requirement. NOTE: If the listed switch is used as a replacement switch in an mlag pair and this switch cannot downgrade below ONYX-3.10.4006, the other switch in the mlag pair needs upgraded to an ONYX revision to match that of this switch.
