For any HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 modules for Synergy configured in a Redundant or Highly Available Logical Interconnect, in rare instances, one (or more) uplink ports may experience a link down after a complete power-cycle (power off and then power on) of the entire Synergy Frame. When this issue occurs, HPE OneView will display an alert similar to the following: "For uplink set <port name>, uplink ports <Frame serial number>, interconnect <port name> are non-operational" This issue has been observed with the cables/transceivers shown below; however, this issue may occur with any supported cables/transceivers. Scope

In the scenario described above, any HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 modules for Synergy running any firmware version.

Resolution

If this issue has already occurred, perform either of the following: Remove and re-insert the cable/transceiver on the affected Virtual Connect module port. OR Disable and re-enable the affected uplink port from OneView.
