Description:

Info

For any HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 modules for Synergy configured in a Redundant or Highly Available Logical Interconnect, in rare instances, the B-side fabric iSCSI downlink port connections for compute modules may remain down after a complete power-cycle (power off and then power on) of the entire Synergy Frame. This issue occurs due to a timing issue associated with an uplink port link down/up transition with a duration of less than 500 milliseconds. This issue only occurs when the iSCSI VLAN is configured with Smart Link. The uplink port link down/up transition results in a rare timing condition where the iSCSI VLAN Smart Link feature brings down the iSCSI connection; however, the iSCSI VLAN Smart Link fails to bring up the iSCSI connection when the uplink port transitions to an online state. When this issue occurs, OneView will display an alert similar to the following: "The connection on downlink port <port #>, sub-port <sub-port ID> has failed. The sub-port is unlinked." This issue only affects the B-side fabric iSCSI connections, and the A-side fabric iSCSI connections will remain active. The Ethernet and FCoE connections will remain active on both sides.

Scope

In the scenario described above, any HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 modules for Synergy running any firmware version.
