Description:

Info

Document Version Release Date Details 2 January 5, 2024 Updated Resolution with permanent fix. 1 June 2, 2023 Original Document Release. On HPE servers mentioned in the Scope section below that support Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) with a driver version of 8.0.3.1013(B) or earlier, and running Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022, a RAID rebuild may take very long time to complete after a failed hard drive is removed and a new hard drive is inserted. In a case of a RAID 1 with two 1TB hard drives configuration, when one of the 1TB drives fails and is replaced, the RAID rebuild may take as long as 20 or more hours to complete. This is a known issue with the Intel VROC driver, not specific to HPE.

Scope

Any of Intel-based HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus, ProLiant Gen11, Synergy 480 Gen11 Compute Modules, or HPE Alletra servers mentioned in the Hardware Platforms Affected section below.
