HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen11
No affected releases provided.
No fixed releases provided.
HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen11 servers are configured by design with only one Ultra Path Interconnect (UPI) link between processors; with the Opportunistic Snoop Broadcast (OSB) feature enabled and running System ROM 1.30, the snoop broadcast traffic over UPI for local streaming writes, or similar types of workloads, may overload the UPI link, resulting in a performance degradation. This occurs because the traffic over UPI will have to compete with the snoop broadcast traffic, creating a bottleneck in the UPI, which can slow down the memory transactions.
HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen11 servers.
Update the System ROM to version 1.36 (or later), which offers the ability to control the OSB feature setting (OSB Local/Remote Read). This setting is located under System Utilities > System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Power and Performance Options > Intel UPI Options. After updating to this version of System ROM, this option would be Disabled by default. For workloads that may benefit from the OSB feature, this setting can be set to "Auto", to enable it.
