For any HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 compute modules, after a system reboot, HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6) may fail to report drives installed in the front drive cage when connected to an HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 Controller. The affected drives are visible and accessible from the Operating System and HPE OneView. This is an iLO 6 reporting issue.

Scope

In the scenario described above, any HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 compute modules configured with the following: HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6) running any firmware versions prior to 1.50. HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 x16 Lanes 4GB Cache SPDM Mezzanine Storage controller running any firmware version. HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 2SFF SAS/SATA/NVMe Premium Drive Cage Kit or HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 4SFF SAS/SATA/NVMe Premium Drive Cage Kit.

Resolution

To avoid this issue, update iLO 6 to version 1.50 (or later). iLO 6 version 1.51 has been included in HPE Synergy Service Pack 2023.10.01. These (or later) versions can be found at the HPE Synergy Software Releases page. If this issue has already occurred, reboot the compute module again.
