Document Version Release Date Details 2 January 23, 2024 Updated the Resolution section with Gen11 Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2023.10.00.00, which contains the fix 1 June 27, 2023 Original Document Release On any HPE ProLiant Gen11 Server configured with any of the HPE Fibre Channel Adapters listed in the Scope section below, the HPE Fibre Channel firmware component is not listed in inventory during an offline firmware update with HPE Gen11 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2023.04.00. This is due to a missing enablement kit in the boot environment, which is a prerequisite for the firmware component to discover the hardware. NOTE : This issue is also seen with HPE OneView where the type C/D component is not listed when it gets flashed offline via SUM/SUT.
Scope
This advisory applies to any HPE ProLiant Gen11 server configured with any of the following Fibre Channel HBAs: HPE SN1610Q 32Gb Dual Port Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter HPE SN1610Q 32Gb Single Port Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter HPE SN1700Q 64Gb Dual Port Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter HPE SN1700Q 64Gb Single Port Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter SPP/SSP/SUM version affected: HPE Gen11 SPP 2023.04.00
Resolution
This issue is addressed in Gen11 Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2023.10.00.00 and later, documented in the "Resolved CAs" tab. Firmware installation can be performed via the online method using SPP. Update by launching the HPE Gen11 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2023.04.00 on any supported operating system and perform the online inventory and deployment.
