Description:

Info

On HPE platforms configured with any of the Pensando Distributed Services Platform Cards listed in the Scope section below, there are network configurations where the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) needs to be disabled. LACP may not function correctly in certain environments that require LLDP frames containing LACP information to be forwarded to the network stack. To avoid this condition, the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) needs to be disabled for the network adapter. Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is supported for the network adapters that use DSC-25 and DSC-100 drivers and LLDP is enabled by default. The LLDP status and configuration cannot be modified in the BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU). AHS does not display any Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) information for the network adapters that use the DSC-25 & DSC-100 drivers. LLDP status and settings for the network adapters that use the DSC-25 & DSC-100 drivers can be viewed and modified using the lldptool in Linux.

Scope

Any HPE platform configured with any of the following Pensando Distributed Services Platform Cards: Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-100 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 Card (P37690-B21) Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-100 Cloud-Service Providers 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 Card (P41852-B21) Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 Enterprise 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 Card (P26966-B21) Pensando Distributed Services Platform DSC-25 v2 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 32GB Special Card (P47928-B21) / Note: This network adapter is only configured on HPE ProLiant with VMware vSphere Distributed Services Engine Platforms.

Resolution

As a workaround, disable Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) in Linux by using the lldptool. Example: lldptool set-lldp -i eth2 adminStatus=disabled Notes: Only disable the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) on the interfaces where the issue is experienced. To display the LLDP admin status, execute the following command: # lldptool get-lldp -i eth2 adminStatus RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES : Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Support Alerts.
