On any of the HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers mentioned in the Scope section below, the system may intermittently stop responding and encounter a Red Screen of Death (RSOD) during boot, when running System ROM version 1.32 or 1.40 with iLO Firmware version 1.50. The Red Screen of Death (RSOD) will be similar to the following with an x64 Exception Type 0x0E - Page-Fault Exception.
Any of the following HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers are impacted by this issue when using System ROM revisions v1.32 or v1.40 and iLO Firmware v1.50: HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 server HPE ProLiant DL365 Gen11 server HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen11 server HPE ProLiant DL345 Gen11 server
This issue is resolved with System ROM version 1.42 (or later). If this issue occurs, power off the system and flash System ROM 1.42, then cold boot the system. To download the latest System ROM, perform the following steps: 1.Click the following link: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center . 2.Enter a product name (e.g., " DL380 Gen10") in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. 3.The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: -Select the Software Type "BIOS" -Select the Subtype "System ROM" -For further filtering if needed select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment Type. 4.Locate and select the System ROM 1.26 (or later). Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. 5.Click Download.
