IMPORTANT: The software/firmware updates listed in the Resolution section are considered a critical fix and are required to avoid the issue detailed below. HPE strongly recommends immediate application of this critical fix. Neglecting to perform the required action could result in early switch failure. For any NVIDIA InfiniBand NDR 64-port OSFP switches listed in the Scope section below, critical software/firmware updates are available now to avoid potential switch failure after 3-4 years of operation. Prior to the failure, the switch will manifest a performance degradation. NVIDIA has identified the root cause and has a proven solution that allows the switch to operate normally for the expected lifetime.
Scope
In the scenario described above, the following switches: SKU Number SKU Description Revision and Software/Firmware P45692-B21 NVIDIA InfiniBand NDR 64-port OSFP Managed Power to Connector Airflow Switch Rev A3 (or earlier) and MLNX OS version 3.10.6004 (or earlier) P45691-B21 NVIDIA InfiniBand NDR 64-port OSFP Power to Connector Airflow Switch Rev A3 (or earlier) and firmware version 31.2010.6102 (or earlier)
Resolution
Schedule a maintenance window prior to the software/firmware updates, and refer to the information provided below. For NVIDIA InfiniBand NDR 64-port OSFP Managed Power to Connector Airflow Switches: Update the MLNX OS to version 3.11.1004 (or later).
