On an HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus server fully populated with eight PCIe adapters, and one of the eight adapters has the disk where the VMware ESXi 8.0 operating system is being installed, the disk does not appear during the installation at the "Select Disk" screen. When serial-line logging is enabled on the ESXi host during the ESXi 8.0 installation; in the vmkernel.log the following will be written: WARNING: IntrCookie: 1459: Unable to find a free interrupt number
Any ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus system with eight or more PCI-E adapters installed and one of the adapters has the installation disk for the Operating system connected.
Start the ESXi 8.0 installation. At boot, press Shift+O in the boot loader. Enter boot options and press Enter to continue; maxIntrCookies=4096 Further details are available in VMware article 78182 .
