After adding an HPE ProLiant Gen11 Server to HPE OneView 8.X, the add task and the server may enter an "Unmanaged Communication Error" as follows: The following is displayed in the add task:

Scope

Any HPE iLO 6 and HPE OneView 8.0 (or later) when managing HPE Gen11 servers.

Resolution

To avoid this issue, update to iLO 6 firmware v1.53 (or later). The issue is caused by non-standard UTF-8 characters similar to "7є:%q���T�U" being found in the "Recipient Email Address" and/or "Sender Domain or Email Address" fields of the iLO 6 Management --> Mail Settings UI section as shown in the example below: The issue can also be fixed by clearing these characters from these field(s) and then click "Apply". Proceed to add the server again to HPE OneView. To download iLO 6 v1.53, perform the following steps: Click the following link: http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo6 The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment. Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 v1.53 firmware. click the Revision History tab to locate the latest version. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button.
