Info

Document Version Release Date Details 4 December 14, 2023 Affected firmware versions range has been updated in the document. 3 December 6, 2023 Root cause and conditions have been updated with additional details. 2 November 27, 2023 Information about the root cause has been updated in the Description section. 1 November 17, 2023 Original Document Release. On any HPE ProLiant platform configured with any of the HPE Broadcom NX1-based network adapters with firmware combo image v20.25.4x or v20.26.4x listed in the Scope section below; the following conditions may be experienced: When the platform is also configured with any of the HPE Broadcom storage controllers listed in the Scope section below; a Power-On Self-Test (POST) failure or Red Screen of Death (RSOD) may be experienced when the system boots. An UMCE error message similar to the following will be logged in the iLO Integrated Management Log: Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Processor 1, APIC ID 0x00000000, Bank 0x0000000A, Status 0xFE200000'00041136, Address 0x00000000'B0000000, Misc 0x00000AC0'E0401086). ACTION: Update the system firmware. If the issue persists, contact support. Slot number for PCIe devices may be not reported correctly in the HPE iLO web. These conditions occur because the HPE Broadcom NX1-based network adapters incorrectly alter certain values in the System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) table where some system devices will use as reference in the Power-On Self-Test (POST); therefore, when these system devices retrieve incorrect data from the System Management BIOS (SMBIOS), either of the conditions above may be experienced.
