Description:

Info

An update for firmware and drivers initiated from HPE OneView may fail if it is performed on a Linux environment with the following deployments: Custom Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) created from any SPP base when the November 2023 SPP patch bundle (or later) is used that contains the component, libbnxt_re-227.0.130.0-.x86_64.rpm Synergy Service Pack (SSP) that contains the component, libbnxt_re-227.0.130.0-.x86_64.rpm This can occur even if the Force Re-installation flag is enabled, when the update is initiated from OneView. When the update fails, the following error message will appear: This issue may not affect deployments on Windows-based or VMware-based environments.

Scope

HPE OneView 8.6 or earlier when the libbnxt_re-227.0.130.0-.x86_64.rpm component is used in an HPE Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) or Synergy Service Pack (SSP) update for firmware and operating system drivers.

Resolution

This issue is corrected and resolved in Gen10 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2024.04.00.00 and Gen11 Service Pack for ProLiant 2024.04.00.00 and Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2024.01.02. Update the firmware to correct this issue when it occurs. As a workaround, install a libbnxt component from the Operating System by using root privilege access. To install the libbnxt component from the Operating System, run the command: #rpm -Uvh --replacefiles --replacepkgs <rpm name> OR #rpm -ivh <rpm name> --force [–replacefiles] NOTE : Ensure the libibverbs and librbnt dependency libraries and drivers are already installed before installing the libbnxt_re package. Additionally, use the --force or --replacefiles options when performing a fresh installation, upgrade, downgrade, or rewrite of the HPE Broadcom RoCE library, which may conflict with the inbox library. Alternatively, the custom Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) can also be installed using launch_sum.sh from the Linux Operating System.
