The Cohesity software runs as an appliance on top of Linux. Additional software and tools cannot be installed in the OS to avoid negatively impacting the appliance operation. The SOS Report (sosreport) tool is not installed in the version of Linux used by Cohesity. Instead of requesting the sosreport, the following reports for Cohesity systems can be requested instead: Active Health System (AHS) log Array Diagnostic Utility (ADU) report for SSD drive issues (to check wear level) For any drive issues: smartctl -a <device name> (e.g. smartctl -a /dev/sda) /var/log/messages* (This should include as many versions of the messages file as available.) /var/log/dmesg

Any HPE system with Cohesity software.
Resolution
Obtain the set of logs above on Cohesity systems where sosreport is not available.
