HPE OneView allows users to specify a MAC address when creating an Ethernet connection. When creating or editing the server profile, the "Use user-specified IDs" option is used, as shown below: After the MAC address is specified on the Connection window, and the Server Profile is applied, the profile Creation/Apply task will be completed without any warning/alert, but the user-specified MAC address value will not be applied:

Scope

Any HPE Synergy servers that are managed by HPE OneView 8.30 (or later).

Resolution

This issue is resolved in HPE OneView 8.7. Update to OneView 8.70 or later. As a workaround, perform the following procedure below to create a server profile connection with the "User Specified Ids": Use the following command to create a profile connection with "User Specified Ids". Refer to the "Server Profiles" section in HPE OneView API Reference.
