An HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus server or Apollo 4200 Gen10 Plus system may stop responding during POST when the NVMe PCIe Resource Padding is set to Medium or High, under BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > PCIe Device Configuration > Advanced PCIe Configuration:

Scope

Either of the following: ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus configured with 2 or more 8SFF NVMe backplanes. Apollo 4200 Gen10 Plus configured with HPE Smart Array P816i-a and one or more 8SFF NVMe backplane(s).

Resolution

This issue has been fixed with System ROM version 2.00 (or later): HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus (U46) Servers HPE Apollo 4200 Gen10 Plus System Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. If this issue has already occurred, access the iLO web GUI > Information – Diagnostics. Execute "Restore Default System Settings" to recover the system.
