Description:

Info

If the iLO firmware version 1.54 has ever been installed on any HPE Computes with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6), this version of the iLO firmware may have over-written the iLO Redfish Event Subscriptions entries. This can prevent monitoring software from receiving life-cycle events or hardware alert messages.

Scope

HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO 6) firmware version 1.54.

Resolution

For any iLO 6 host that has ever had iLO version 1.54 installed, perform the following actions: NOTE : Skip the following steps if the iLO 6 firmware was updated directly from 1.53 (or earlier) to version 1.55 or later. Update the iLO 6 to version 1.55 or later. On each of iLO 6 that once ran version 1.54, perform an iLO Redfish call to clear all the iLO’s subscriptions: POST /redfish/v1/EventService/Actions/Oem/Hpe/HpeEventService.ClearAllSubscriptions/ Verify this API returns 200 OK Perform "Reset iLO" as an iLO reset is required HPE OneView HPE OneView will automatically recover from this condition after 8 hours of not receiving any health events from iLO 6. Alternatively, perform a Server Hardware refresh, or a Logical Enclosure refresh for enclosure-based environments. HPE Compute Ops Management (COM) To recover in COM, use both options and perform the following steps: Option 1 On environments with access to the network switch where the iLO 6 network port is connected to, perform the following steps on that network switch port: Disable the network port. Leave the port down for 2 minutes. Enable the network port. Option 2 On the iLO Management -> Compute Ops Management section: Disable Compute Ops Management within iLO. Leave disconnected for 2 minutes. Enable Compute Ops Management within iLO. NOTE : Both option 1 and option 2 may be automated by using the respective scripting technologies. For Other Monitoring Software Reference the vendor's monitoring software documentation on how to re-establish the Redfish subscription. To determine the hardware status of each computes, reference the iLO's IML tab to find any current warning or critical events. This process may be automated by iLO's Redfish API, HPE iLO cmdlets for PowerShell, or HPE RESTful Interface tool.
