Description:

Info

On any HPE Computes with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5), the Redfish Event Subscriptions are removed after upgrading firmware from iLO 5 version 2.95 (or earlier) to iLO 5 version 2.96 or version 2.97. This will prevent HPE OneView, HPE Compute Ops Managment (COM), or other monitoring applications from receiving life cycle, software or hardware events.

Scope

HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) that were updated to version 2.96 or version 2.97 from earlier versions.

Resolution

HPE OneView HPE OneView will automatically recover from this condition after eight hours of not receiving any health events from iLO 5. Alternatively, perform a Server Hardware refresh, or a Logical Enclosure refresh for enclosure-based environments. HPE Compute Operation Management (COM) To recover in COM, use Option 1 and Option 2 (below) to perform the following steps: If iLO 5 is at version 2.95 or earlier: Do not update any iLO 5 to firmware version 2.96 or 2.97. Update to iLO 5 to firmware version 2.99 or later. If iLO 5 has ever had firmware version 2.96 or 2.97 installed, then perform the following steps to recover the Redfish subscriptions: Option 1 On environments with access to the network switch where the iLO 5 network port is connected to, perform the following steps on that network switch port: Disable the network port. Leave the port down for 2 minutes. Enable the network port. Option 2 On the iLO Management -> Compute Ops Management section: Disable Compute Ops Management within iLO. Leave disconnected for 2 minutes. Enable Compute Ops Management within iLO NOTE : Both Option 1 and Option 2 may be automated using the respective scripting technologies. For Other Monitoring Software Reference the vendor's monitoring software documentation on how to re-establish the Redfish subscription. To determine the hardware status of each of computes reference the iLO's IML tab to find any current warning or critical events. The processes iLO's Redfish API, HPE iLO cmdlets for PowerShell, or HPE RESTful Interface tool may be automated.
