The HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 and HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 5, iLO 6) do not support Cipher Suite 17 for the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI). For instance, running the "ipmitool" utility version 1.8.18 with the interface specifed as "lanplus" and cipher suite as "17" for an iLO 5 or iLO 6 will result in the following error, "Error in open session response message : no matching cipher suite Error: Unable to establish IPMI v2 / RMCP+ session."
Scope
HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 and 6.
Resolution
The Support for Cipher Suite 17 for the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) will be added in a future release of the iLO 5 and iLO 6 firmware. This advisory will be updated when additional information becomes available.
