While performing an unexpected removal and hot-insertion of an NVMe drive with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 GA, many kernel call traces are observed as follows: [ 369.727789] INFO: task jbd2/nvme2n1p1-:8547 blocked for more than 122 seconds. [ 369.727793] Not tainted 5.14.0-70.22.1.el9_0.x86_64 #1 [ 369.727794] "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. Red Hat has released a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 z-stream kernel that resolved the issue. This does not occur with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.1.
Any HPE ProLiant Gen11 server with NVMe drives running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0.
Update to the newer kernel as follows: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0: kernel version 5.14.0-70.26.1.el9_0 (or later) RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES : Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Support Alerts.
