While attempting to reimage an HPE Synergy Composer or Synergy Composer2 after the January 1st, 2024 date, the reimage process will fail with the following output: Locating Firmware image on USB: <USB volume name appears here> Current Date and time is: MMM DD HH:MM:SS UTC 2024 WARNING: The date on your appliance needs to be reset after flashing firmware . "Could Not Validate the HP Signature Because the HP Public Key Could Not Be Imported" Re-Image of appliance encountered errors and could not complete If the above output contains the following message: " WARNING: the date on your appliance needs to be reset after flashing firmware " Then the reimage code has mistakenly set the date to the year 2015. Note : If the above warning message is not seen during reimaging, but the reimage fails with only the message, " Could Not Validate the HP Signature Because the HP Public Key Could Not Be Imported ," check the current date and time to make sure they are correct.
Scope
Any HPE Synergy Composer (1st Generation) or Composer2 attempting to reimage.
Resolution
Set the date to any date in the year 2023 before trying the reimage again. To change it to a year 2023 date, perform the following steps: Allow HPE OneView to boot. Log into the OneView User Interface and reset the time to a date in 2023. Then, attempt to reimage.
