In rare instances, one or more chassis PSUs may experience a momentary AC power loss (a fraction of a second). In such situations, the Superdome Flex firmware detects the AC input power loss, but it does not detect that AC input power is restored. This results in "show health" reporting a warning for those PSUs that remain latched, which results in the overall complex health status being "Critical." The CAE will report the following event, which is commonly seen when a PSU experiences input AC power loss. "Show health" will report the health warning as follows, which does not get cleared:
Any HPE Superdome Flex and Superdome Flex 280 servers.
If this issue occurs, run the "RMC CLI> bmc pmbus_dump -c" command. This will clear the health warning that is latched for the PSUs and also set the overall health status of the complex to "OK." In order to check the current status of the AC input power and DC output power of the PSUs, use the following command. RMC Cli> bmc pmbus_dump –i Scroll to the PSU section and check the status of the PSU Vin and Vout power: RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES : Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Support Alerts.
