HPE OneView
Smart Update Manager (SUM)
Smart Update Manager Software, HPE OneView
No fixed releases provided.
Document Version Release Date Details 3 February 26, 2024 Added the HPE SSP version that contains the fix. 2 February 2, 2024 Updated Resolution with permanent fix. 1 January 29, 2024 Original Document Release. On any HPE Gen10 Servers or Synergy Compute Modules, HPE SUM fails to identify whether a drive is behind the controller if it is attached to an embedded controller. In this scenario, SUM tries to update drives as if they are directly attached and the component will move to exception in the iLO repository, failing to update. The components also fail to update when using OneView.
Any HPE Gen10 Server or Synergy Compute Module with drives attached to the Embedded Controller.
This issue has been fixed with SUM version 10.6.3 (or later), available here . This version of SUM is also available in HPE Synergy Service Pack 2024.01.02 or later. Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. As a workaround, update the drive directly through the iLORest flashfwpkg command for earlier SUM versions.
