In the event of a switch failure in a switch configuration of the HPE GreenLake for Block Storage MP, an attempt to replace the failed switch results in the following error messages: Failed switches check: Bad switch FW version on sw2. Use the CLI command showswitch -svc to verify that both switches are present and in a normal state. If not, contact your next level of support for additional information. An internal error occurred: Bad switch FW version on sw2. Use the CLI command showswitch -svc to verify that both switches are present and in a normal state. If not, contact your next level of support for additional information. This attempt to replace the failed switch will prevent the customer from completing the replacement, as it will require an additional manual step to be performed by HPE Support personnel.
This issue impacts customer serviceable switch replacement from the GUI on HPE GreenLake for Block Storage MP Version 10.3.0 (or later).
This issue will be resolved in a future version of HPE GreenLake for Block Storage MP. This advisory will be updated when a resolution is available. As a workaround, contact HPE Services on the HPE website to log a new case to replace the failed switch manually.
