The Agentless Management Service for Windows Server operating system will terminate unexpectedly with Exception code 0xc0000409, as shown in the image below, if the network controller description contains a Unicode of two-byte characters. This issue has been observed on ProLiant Gen10 and Gen11 servers running the Japanese Windows Server operating system and the Network Adapter controller description is renamed using Japanese key characters.
Any ProLiant Gen10/Gen10 Plus or Gen11 server running Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022 and Agentless Management Service (AMS) 2.51.4.1 (or earlier) for Gen10 or Gen10 Plus, and AMS version 3.40.0.0 (or earlier) for Gen11 servers, when the Network Controllers description contains Unicode two-byte characters.
This issue has been fixed with the following version of AMS: Gen11 version 3.40.0.1: HPE Gen11 Agentless Management Service for Microsoft Windows x64 Gen10 and Gen10 Plus version 2.51.4.2: Agentless Management Service for Microsoft Windows x64 As a workaround for earlier versions, change the Network Controllers description using regular ASCII characters. Select a US Keyboard entry before changing the Network Controllers Description.
