When a server profile is applied on a rack-based Gen11 server with "Manage boot settings" and "Managed boot order" enabled as PXE, the server NICs will be removed from the UEFI boot order list and cause the server to not boot from PXE. The following example shows the expected options: This issue will also occur when a profile is assigned to a rack-based Gen11 server with the option "Manage boot settings" enabled and the "Managed boot order" option is not selected: As shown in the example below, the network adapter is missing from the UEFI Boot Order:
A Server Profile Create or Reapply task that is attempted on any HPE rack-based Gen11 server that are managed by HPE OneView 8.10 (or later).
This issue is corrected by updating to HPE OneView 8.80. As a workaround, assign the server profile with the option "Manage Boot settings" unchecked, and manage the boot order outside OneView. Note : To use any boot option other than PXE, assign the server profile with "boot order options" other than PXE, such as "Hard Disk" or "SD card."
