Description:

Info

When a Tri-Mode backplane is directly connected to a Hybrid Port (i.e. Port supporting both NVMe & SATA) on HPE Gen11 servers and the drive type installed is SATA, some drives may display as disabled in the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6) Web Interface. When this occurs, a mismatch of the expected and actual drive count in Redfish/GUI is also observed.

Scope

Any HPE Gen11 server when a Tri-Mode backplane is connected to Hybrid Port (NVMe+SATA) with SATA drives installed.

Resolution

This is targeted to be resolved in a future version of the iLO 6 firmware. As a workaround, the drive should still be visible and inventoried as expected when the Agentless Management Service (AMS) is installed; however, in some cases, the drive state may be disabled. The latest version of the AMS is available as follows: Click the following link: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center Enter a product name (e.g., "AMS") in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment. Locate and select the Agentless Management Service . Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button. This advisory will be updated when additional information is available.
