In rare instances, HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers that use a network PXE boot may become unresponsive. All operations on the server will stop functioning, and the server will not respond to any user input. Attempts to use the virtual NMI button through Integrated Lights-Out to force a server crash will be unsuccessful. Server recovery requires one of the following alternatives: A physical or virtual (through the integrated Lights-Out interface) power button press and hold. This will power off the server. The server can then be powered on with another momentary power-button press. OR Use the "cold boot" option in the Integrated Lights-Out interface to power off the server and power it on again automatically. This is the recommended option if available.

Scope

This issue will affect the servers listed below. In addition, this has only been observed on servers that use a network PXE boot where the PXE boot image is VMware ESXi 7.0. However, servers using alternative operating system PXE boot images could be affected. Resolution

This issue is resolved with System ROM version 3.10. Note: HPE recommends updating the System ROM at the earliest opportunity on operating environments similar to what has been described in the Scope section. To download the System ROM, perform the following steps: 1.Click the following link: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center . 2.Enter a product name (e.g., " DL380 Gen10") in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. 3.The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: -Select the Software Type "BIOS" -Select the Subtype "System ROM" -For further filtering if needed select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment Type. 4.Locate and select the System ROM 3.10 (or later). Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. 5.Click Download.
