After updating the firmware using vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) with Single Image configuration with an HPE OneView Server profile using baseline Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP)/HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) containing HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware v2.96, the following occurs: "Error occurred while installing the FW component in the install set." <hostname> -Failed to remediate host. "Error occurred while installing the FW component in the install set." The server profile displays the following warning: T he firmware baseline applied on the server hardware is inconsistent with the firmware baseline selected in the server profile. (SHFW_020) The Installation Queue in iLO 5 displays the installation state as Complete. Refer to Advisory: HPE Compute - After Upgrading iLO 5 Firmware to Version 2.96 or Version 2.97, iLO May No Longer Post Redfish-based Events to HPE OneView, Compute Operation Management or Other Monitoring Software for more information.

Scope

Any HPE system updated with a baseline SPP/SSP containing iLO 5 firmware v2.96.

Resolution

Update to iLO 5 firmware v2.99 (or later). If compliance with the SSP/SPP baseline is a requirement, perform either of the workarounds below. To download iLO 5 v2.99, perform the following steps: Click the following link: http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo5 The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment. Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 v2.99 firmware. click the Revision History tab to locate the latest version. For more important information, review the Release Notes tab. Click the Download button. Workaround 1: Perform a Server Hardware refresh or a Logical Enclosure refresh for enclosure-based environments. or HPE OneView will automatically recover from this condition after eight hours of not receiving any health events from iLO 5. Perform a compliance check again from vLCM to reflect the current state of the installation. Workaround 2: Update iLO 5 to firmware v2.96 /2.97 (from the baseline). Perform a Server Hardware refresh. Start server remediation from vLCM or Apply the server profile with SPP/SSP baseline.
