On an HPE system with the Hardware Validation Tool (HVT) 3.86.0001, included in HPE Intelligent Provisioning (IP) 3.8X, fails the HDD self-test if any MR216i or MR408i MegaRAID controllers are installed. The test result will return "HDD self test has failed." This issue has been observed with the VK001920GWSRU, MK000960GZXRB, VK000960GWSRT, VK001920GWTTC drives, but may also fail with other NVME/SATA disks attached to an MR216i or MR408i controller.
Scope
Any HPE Gen10 or HPE Gen10 Plus server running HVT 3.86.001 Diagnostics with any MR controller and any drive.
