On an HPE SimpliVity host with remote Data At Rest Encryption (DARE) enabled, if the firmware is at a version lower than SVTSP-2023_1130 and it is upgraded to SVTSP-2024_0131, then the logical drives on the SimpliVity host will show a status of "Standby Offline" and become inaccessible. This does not occur when firmware is upgraded from 2023_1130 to 2024_0131. This issue occurs due to a known issue in iLO 5 firmware. Refer to the following document for more information: HPE Multiple Server Platforms - Logical Drives Connected to an Enterprise Secure Key Manage (ESKM) Server May Report a Status of Standby Offline After an iLO 5/6 Firmware Upgrade
All HPE Gen10 SimpliVity Hardware supporting DARE.
If the logical drives go offline, follow these steps: Go to Security > Encryption > Update Security Settings in the iLO page. Uncheck the "Disable Weak Ciphers" and click on the "Apply" button. iLO will request a reset. Reset the iLO for the change to apply. Reboot the server.
