Description:

Info

When performing a firmware upgrade to version HPD2 on HPE disk models MB006000JYDNF or MB008000JYDPC, an issue occurs where the disks will be offline and no longer automatically mounted on a Nutanix system. This occurs because the Nutanix system cannot automatically handle a change in the disk serial number that happens during the firmware upgrade, and as a result, the disks will not be available and cannot be mounted. The firmware upgrade is done via the HPE ProLiant SPP 2022.09.01.00 (or later) or via an individual update using the Online HDD/SSD Flash Component . The following is an example of how the serial number change would look: Physical Drives - Firmware HPD0 Location Model Serial Number Firmware Capacity Slot 1 1I,3,1 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1V5C40000E3023QRL HPD0 8 TB Slot 1 1I,3,2 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1TYTJ0000E30214UP HPD0 8 TB Slot 1 1I,3,3 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1TY450000E3023NBP HPD0 8 TB Slot 1 1I,3,4 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1V3EE0000E3024JV7 HPD0 8 TB After Upgrade: Physical Drives - Firmware HPD2 Location Model Serial Number Firmware Capacity Slot 1 1I,3,1 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1V5C4 HPD2 8 TB Slot 1 1I,3,2 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1TYTJ HPD2 8 TB Slot 1 1I,3,3 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1TY45 HPD2 8 TB Slot 1 1I,3,4 MB008000JYDPC WWZ1V3EE HPD2 8 TB
