On an HPE system with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) and iLO 6, NVMe Direct Attached drives are incorrectly enumerated as controllers on the iLO UI Page -> System Information - Storage Information -> Storage Page. The process to determine if the iLO has incorrectly enumerated the NVMe Direct- Attached drives is to review the "Storage Controllers" section on the "System Information- Storage Information" >" Storage" page. That section will display names of NVMe direct-attached drive serial numbers incorrectly, as that should display the storage controller serial number as "Name." This does not affect the operation or functionality of the NVME Direct- Attached Drive. Figure 1 :"Storage Controllers" Information should display as "Drives" Information.
Scope
Any HPE system with iLO 5 firmware v3.02 or iLO 6 firmware v1.57.
Resolution
This does not affect the operation or functionality of the NVMe Direct- Attached Drive. There is no specific resolution or workaround as such for this issue in iLO 5 v3.02 or iLO 6 v1.57. This is targeted to be resolved in a future version of iLO 5 and iLO 6 firmware. To avoid this issue, use a previous iLO 5 or iLO 6 firmware version. To download firmware earlier than iLO 5 v3.02 or earlier than iLO 6 v1.57, perform the following steps: Click either of the following links: http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo5 or http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo6 The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment. Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 earlier than v3.02 Firmware or HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 earlier than v1.57 Firmware . click the Revision History tab to locate the latest version.
