In rare instances, certain HPE StoreEver LTO Ultrium Tape Drives may not be detected during a server cold boot when the drives are attached to an HPE Smart Array SR Controller. To determine whether the LTO drives are recognized, perform the following: Press F9 during BIOS POST to boot into the System Configuration (RBSU). Example of RBSU Screen Results Select System Utilities . Select System Configuration . Select HPE Smart Array controller . Select Disk Utilities . If the LTO tape drives are detected, they will be displayed in a screen similar to the example below.

Power off the server from the OS, and power on the server again to recover the missing HPE StoreEver LTO Ultrium Tape Drives.
